Research into music videos

Busta Rhymes 'Touch It (remix)'

This video was made in 2006. The genre of this video is Hip Hop. It is a remix from Busta Rhymes' original 'Touch It'. The mise-en-scene of this music video includes different colour backgrounds for the different artists. The males tend to have the more masculine colours and the women more feminine. It is quite a fierce song with alarming sounds so it gives an emergency and dangerous feel to the video. The artists are represented as individuals which conntotes power and makes the audience focus on just them.

Madonna 'Hung Up'

This video represents an older women being young and having fun. It has non-digetic sound of a clock ticking, linking to the words 'time goes by so slowly'. It focuses on her body as being a idealogy for herself as an artist. She is known to flaunt herself. It is a dance/pop song so it includes a clubbing scene. This video overall represents her as wanting to be young and show she is a good dancer, also that she has a very good body at her age.

Katy Perry 'I Kissed a Girl' This is a rock genre. Katy Perry is represented as a wild girl in this video, although it is about kissing a girl so the colours used are very feminine. As well as being a rock chick she wears very girly clothes that are revealing. She is represented as a wild girl that still has her girly trates. She is shown as being courageous.
