Beyonce 'Sweet Dreams'
Here is a rough storyboard using her music video. We can see many lip syncs and close ups but also wide shots to show what is known as her curvaceous body and wicked dance moves. She is represented as a strong woman with powerful dance moves and a sexy body. She has a powerful voice to go with her look.
This video was directed by Adria Petty.

Research into Moving Image

Catatonia
Here are two pictures that show the sets for music videos. As you can see on the right there are: cameras. lights, backdrops, props and many crew to use these things. These are all the codes and conventions of a music video.

Here is one of the band members on the set.
We can see the light shining on her to connote
serenity and an angelic feel.

Bow storyboard:

Here are two shots of one of bow wow's music videos. Here we can see that one shot focuses on the main artist in a mid-shot and then in the shot after it becomes wide and we can see the male artist highlighted in front of the moon.

Jeremiah 'Birthday Sex'
This shot is a mid-wide shot. The main artist we can see is in the middle as the main attention and the girl is seen as being seductive being close to him. The colours used are very neutral and delicate to fit the soft, sensitive mood. This is the mise-en-scene of this shot. As the song is clearly about sex it has to give that sensual and seductive mood to it. It is an r&b genre so it had quite a soft and loving feel so the song.
